The 'You Should Kill Yourself… Now!' meme originated from various controversial statements made by YouTuber and Street Fighter player Dalauan 'Low Tier God' Sparrow, in which he told his stream snipers and opponents to kill themselves during his online streams. Following a particularly notorious rant during a Super Smash Bros. stream before April 26th, 2020, and his subsequent global ban by Capcom for such offensive remarks, the internet community started creating humorous edits of the video. These edits involved setting the clips to different music tracks or using AI to mimic his rant with different characters. On April 26th, 2020, YouTube user Remy Dyte shared a version set to Sonic 3 and Knuckles soundtracks, and on May 4th, 2020, a post on Twitter (now X) by user @prowerrr_ featured a meme in which SpongeBob narrated the rant using AI-generated voice. These creations paved the way for the actual meme template which was first created by an unknown user and surfaced on a Discord server. The earliest found repost of this edited meme online appeared on August 12th, 2021, on a 4chan thread in the /co/ board.
